Help Network says those in need of help finding food can now send a simple text to get information.

Help Network of Northeast Ohio is rolling out a service that provides those in need with the locations of food pantries or meal sites.

Users can text HELP NETWORK to 898211.

They will be asked for their zip code for location purposes.

Then at the prompt, enter "1" for information about food pantries, or "2" to learn about free meal sites nearby.

A complete list that includes the address and hours of operation for whichever option is chosen will automatically appear on the user's cell phone.

The free meal sites locator has recently been added to this texting feature, joining the information about food pantries, which went into service last year.
