Possible metal in meat prompts sausage recall
The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has recalled around 2,686 pounds of ready-to-eat sausage.

WASHINGTON - The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has recalled around 2,686 pounds of ready-to-eat sausage.
The recall was announced on Saturday.
According to the press release, the products have potentially been contaminated with metal.
The products were manufactured on February 7 and 8 of this year and distributed nationwide.
The FSIS inspection program detected the problem on March 18 during a routine inspection.
There have been no confirmed cases of injury or illness, according to the report.
Anyone that believes they have an injury or illness should contact their health care provider.
The recalled products have the establishment number "EST. 5390A" inside the USDA mark.
According to the report, the following products are named in the recall:
1-lb. vacuum-packed packages containing "NORTH COUNTRY SMOKEHOUSE ORIGINAL OLD FASHIONED POLISH STYLE KIELBASA" with "USE BY 05/09/19."
12-oz. vacuum-packed packages containing "NORTH COUNTRY SMOKEHOUSE *NATURAL OLD FASHIONED POLISH STYLE KIELBASA" with "USE BY 04/23/19."
1-lb. vacuum-packed packages containing "KILCHURN ESTATE® SMOKED KIELBASA" with "USE BY 05/09/19."
