YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - Police were called to a home on Youngstown's south side after a call about a shooting.
The incident happened around 4:30 pm on Tuesday on the 200 block of East LaClede Avenue.
According to the police report, officers arrived on the scene where Brandon Gallo told them that he had shot himself.
Police said Gallo was fixing a pistol for a friend outside and the gun went off.
Reports say he had a gunshot wound through his left thigh and a wound on his left hand.
According to police, Gallo was transported to the hospital and was in stable condition.
Officers say they ran Gallo's information and found that he had an active warrant for contempt of court out of Cuyahoga County.
The report states that Gallo has multiple felony charges including aggravated robbery and burglary that were reduced.
Police said Gallo was also convicted of kidnapping which disqualifies him from having or being in contact of any firearms.
Officers said that Gallo admitted that he had shot himself in the home, not outside and that there were multiple people including two juveniles in the home at the time.
Reports say the firearm was taken from the home and logged as evidence.
