2 children hurt in New Castle crash where driver ran red light
Two children were taken to the hospital after a two-car crash in New Castle where police say a driver ran a red light.
The crash at the intersection of North Jefferson and East North Street happened around 2 p.m., involving a black Buick Enclave and Chevy TrailBlazer
According to Cpl. Chris Fabian, a vehicle traveling south on North Jefferson Street did not stop at a red light and struck a vehicle traveling on East North Street, causing the TrailBlazer to flip.
We're told the TrailBlazer was carrying a woman driver and two young girls, ages 1 and 3.
After being trapped for a short while, officials had to break a window to get the two girls and driver out of the SUV.
Fabian says one of the girls was transported by ambulance and the other by medical helicopter.
