Fiat Chrysler Automobiles US has announced a voluntary recall on almost 300,000 vehicles in the United States.

According to FCA's statement, an investigation discovered that certain vehicles have a software error that could disable airbags and tighten seat belts before an accident.

FCA US said that they are unaware of any related accidents or injuries pertaining to the issue.

Most of the recalled vehicles are 2019 model Ram 1500 trucks.

The statement says that nearly one-third of the recalled vehicles are still at dealerships. A little less than 30 2020 models were also recalled, but the company says that they are all in their control.

Along with the vehicles in the U.S., around 40,000 vehciles in Canada and Mexico are also included in the voluntary recall.

FCA US says that vehicles that have exhibited a defect may have an instrument-panel warning light turn on.
