Jay's Famous Hot Dogs is almost back in business at its Boardman location.

Business Owner Frank Petrakos said after renovations took longer than expected and a change in financing, Jay's will reopen within the next three to four weeks.

Back in late July of 2018, a manager told 21 News the building on 224 would not be torn down to be rebuilt, but would be remodeled.

The reason was because of how "iconic" a building it is, the county even deeming it historical.

Petrakos said the building has been around as Jay's since the late 70's into early 80's, a nearly 40-year staple in the Boardman area.

He said long-time diners won't need to worry about new people on the job. His cousin Greg Petrakos will still run the restaurant as a family-owned business.
