A Youngstown man has been sentenced for a 2017 murder on the city's West Side.

Twenty-six-year-old Dashonti Baker was sentenced to 21-years to life in prison after a jury found him guilty of murder and having weapons under disability in connection with the shooting death of Rae'venne Faircloth-Thomas.

A woman charged in the case, Barraya Hickson, has already pleaded guilty to obstructing justice and was sentenced to 180 days in jail with credit for the 124 days she had already spent in jail.  Hickson is on probation for three years.

The duo was arrested in 2017 after Faircloth-Thomas was found inside an SUV on Oneta Avenue on June 23, 2017.

The coroner said that the victim had been shot several times.
