Man tells Warren officers he stole from the mall, not Family Dollar
Warren police charged a man with petty theft after he was accused of stealing 17 Hershey bars and two bottles of Champagne from a Warren Family Dollar.
Police responded to a theft happening at the Family Dollar on West Market Street, according to a police report. When officers arrived, a manager showed officers a cell phone photo of the man who just left the store with stolen items and told them where Limbeck was headed.
According to the report, 55-year-old Stephen Limbeck was in the Sunoco parking lot when officers caught up with him. Officers told him about the complaint and asked to search his backpack.
Police found 17 Hersheys chocolate bars in his backpack, along with two bottles of champagne. Limbeck told officers he stole the bottles of champagne from the mall and not the Family Dollar, according to the report.
Limbeck admitted to taking the candy and booze. He was charged with petty theft and released.
