Flooding closes road between West Point and Wellsville

Flooding has closed a major highway in southern Columbiana County.

WELLSVILLE, Ohio - Flooding has closed a major highway in southern Columbiana County.

The Ohio Department of Transportation announced Thursday morning that State Route 45 is shut down between the intersection with State Route 30 in West Point, to the intersection of Route 7 in Wellsville due to high water.

ODOT could not estimate when the stretch of road will open again.

The recommended detour is State Route 7 north to U.S. 30, U.S. 30 west to State Route 45, and reverse.

Columbiana County was under a flash flood warning until 1:15 a.m. Thursday.
