A Masury man was killed in an accident involving a semi-truck in Streetsboro Friday morning. Police say the victim, identified as 27-year-old Shayne Owens, struck the rear end of the stopped semi, causing his vehicle to spin off of the road and flip. STREETSBORO, Ohio - A Masury man was killed in an accident involving a semi-truck in Streetsboro Friday morning.
Police say the victim, identified as 27-year-old Shayne Owens, struck the rear end of the stopped semi, causing his vehicle to spin off of the road and flip.
The incident happened on SR 14 just before 10:30 a.m.
According to the Streetsboro Fire Department, the accident stopped traffic for five hours.
The driver of the semi, a 50-year-old man from Newton Falls was taken to University Hospital Portage Medical Campus following the accident.
Police say the victim's vehicle was further damaged in by rescue crews after suffering devasting damage in the crash.
The crash remains under investigation by the Summit Metro Crash investigation team.
