Troopers say a man was seriously injured after crashing his dirt bike on Lippincott Road just north of US 30 Saturday night. 

The man, 27-year-old Brandon Purvis of Minerva, was riding the Honda CRF 450 southbound around 9:30 p.m. when the accident occurred. 

According to a press release from the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Purvis lost control of the bike, overturned and was ejected, striking his head on the roadway, he was not wearing a helmet. 

Purvis sustained serious injuries and has been taken to a hospital in Canton. 

The crash remains under investigation at this time.
