9-year-old boy dies in Goshen Township ATV accident
A nine-year-old boy is dead after an ATV accident at a Goshen Township home.

GOSHEN TWP., Ohio - A nine-year-old boy is dead after an ATV accident at a Goshen Township home.
The accident happened around 7 pm on Wednesday on the 1400 block of Middletown Road.
The boy was identified as Brock Mason.
According to the Goshen Police Chief Steven McDaniel, Mason's father was attempting to park their ATV in the garage when he accidentally ran into his son, causing serious injuries.
Chief McDaniel said that Mason tried to jump out of the way of his father, but the ATV went the same way as Mason and struck him.
Mason was transported to Salem Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
No charges have been filed against Mason's father.
Mason was a student at Damascus Elementary School in Salem.
Grief counselors and support staff will be at Damascus Elementary in the school's library from 9 am until 2 pm on Friday.
The West Branch Local School District posted the following statement on their Facebook page after they received the news of the student's death.
This morning, our school district received some very tragic news.
A Damascus Elementary student passed away after an accident last evening.
We are all feeling the overwhelming grief of this tragic event. We stand ready to assist students, parents and community members with support needed at this time. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family in their time of need.
Counselors and support staff will be available for those needing assistance on Friday July 5th at Damascus Elementary in the school library from 9:00 am - 2:00 pm

Ohio State Highway Patrol assisted with the accident, but Goshen Police are handling it.
