State Senator Michael Rulli tells 21 News there is a plan to help homeowners in Boardman Township deal with flooding.

Rulli said the long-term, 14-step plan would, however, be costly.

He also said that he supports State Representative Don Manning's plan to remove the now-closed Market Street Elementary to put in a retention pond and is hopeful state leaders can get this local issue included in Ohio's operating budget.

"I think we need to get back to retention ponds to get immediate relief because we have to stop this. We can't have my constituents and our citizens on pins and needles every time there's rain. That's no way to live," Rulli said.

Officials say, the Army Corps of Engineers will be in town Wednesday this week and will tour the flooded area.
