With the school year on the horizon, the Beatitude House in Youngstown is seeking back-to-school supplies for the disadvantaged children and young adults the organization serves.

The Beatitude House said that having the right supplies gives their kids the tools they need to get a great start to the year and gives their mom's relief, knowing they won't have to worry about paying for everything.

The students are in need of traditional school supplies and also some specific supplies including, one inch binders, flash drives, plastic folders, three and five subject notebooks, notecards, book covers, pencil boxes, pens, colored pencils,  highlighters, red pencils, mechanical pencils, big block erasers, calculators, hand sanitizer, paper towels, sandwich size and large baggies, sanitizing wipes, dry erase markers, etc.

Donations of wide-rule and college rule notebooks and loose-leaf paper are also being asked for.

The Beatitude House is also accepting gift cards for Target and Walmart to provide school clothing, shoes, socks and underwear.

Those planning on donating are asked to bring items to the administrative offices at 238 Tod Lane, Youngstown, OH 44504 on the campus of St. Edward Parish.

Donations will be accepted from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

All items are needed by Friday, August 9.
