A Warren woman is behind bars after allegedly cutting her son with a knife Sunday evening.

According to the report, the 17-year-old male had his bike stolen and went looking to find the person who took it.

Police say that the 17-year-old went back to his home on the 3300 block of Merriweather Street NW around 8:47 p.m. and found 7-10 other juveniles that wanted to fight him.

Reports say the 17-year-old went into the house and another juvenile began to knock at the door.

Officers say 35-year-old Taneisha Stevens answered the door.

According to the report, the juveniles began to yell at Stevens and spit on her.

Stevens allegedly got angry with her son for not defending her.

Police say Stevens grabbed a knife and went back to the door, causing her son to push her back into the house.

Reports say that the 17-year-old sustained cuts to the left side of his neck, his left palm, under his nose and on his stomach.

According to the report, Stevens said that the cuts were done in self-defense.

Reports say Stevens told police that she was angry with her son for fighting with her instead of the group of juveniles.

Stevens has been charged with felonious assault and was booked into the Trumbull County Jail.
