New Castle police arrested a man after they say kids were left inside a home where more than 168 grams of suspected heroin were found.

Officials executed a search warrant at a home on the 1200 block of Randolph Street where they arrested 33-year-old Client Carrington "Cutty."

Police say they found Carrington trying to hide things in a floor vent. They also found an eight-year-old and ten-year-old inside the home.

After searching, they found the suspected heroin, digital weight scales, two bags of suspected marijuana, a box of new stamp bags, several cell phones, drug paraphernalia, and $329 cash.

According to the police department, while officers were conducting surveillance before the search, they saw those inside the home leave for around 35 minutes with the children left inside the house with the suspected drugs and paraphernalia.

Officials said when they entered the house, they found one child on the dining room floor near where those suspected drugs were found.

Carrington is being charged with three counts of possession with the intent to deliver, one count of possession, one count of possession of drug paraphernalia and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

Charges are pending against the other people inside residence, police say.
