Emergency repairs are underway on Interstate 79 northbound in New Vernon Township.

Storm damage caused emergency repairs.

Crews are working to rebuild the roadway embankment, reset the existing drainage inlet, install new pipes and drainage, and reset the guide rail.

The repairs are being done near mile marker 128.5 northbound.

PennDOT says no detours are anticipated, but northbound lane restrictions will be ongoing between mile marker 128 and 129.

The contract cost for the repairs is $196,015.
