A police sergeant tells 21 News it's unusual to have several people shot in one night, but that's what detectives are investigating in the city of Youngstown.

At least three people were wounded in separate shooting incidents on Youngstown's East Side. A third shooting was reported on Youngstown's South Side.

Police were called to the Himrod Expressway at around 11 p.m. Wednesday.

Police say two young males were found wounded inside a car were taken to St. Elizabeth Hospital.

The expressway was closed between Albert Street and Himrod Avenue while police investigated.

Then just after 2:30 a.m. Thursday, a woman was shot at a home on the 11-hundred block of Scioto Street.

She was also taken to the hospital.

Police say they are also investigating an overnight shooting on the 12-hundred block of Aberdeen Avenue where a man was shot in the leg. 

Police have not revealed circumstances surrounding the shootings, or the names of the victims. However, they say the three victims are in stable condition.
