Columbiana County Recorder pleads not guilty to fatal crash charges
Columbiana County Recorder Theresa Bosel has entered not guilty pleas to charges filed in connection with an August 19th fatal traffic accident in Beaver Township.

CANFIELD, Ohio - Columbiana County Recorder Theresa Bosel has entered not guilty pleas to charges filed in connection with an August 19th fatal traffic accident in Beaver Township.
Instead of appearing before a judge in Mahoning County Court in Canfield, Bosel's Attorney Ed Hartwig filed written not guilty pleas to the minor misdemeanor charge of vehicular manslaughter, as well as traffic citations of straddling lanes and a seat belt violation.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Bosel’s Jeep Wrangler was westbound on Western Reserve Road in Beaver when it collided with a GMC Terrain and a Ford Fusion traveling in the opposite direction.
The Fusion was forced off the road, sending its driver, 69-year-old Cecil Chamberlain of Carlsbad, California to St. Elizabeth Boardman Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
A female passenger in the Fusion was also hospitalized with injuries the patrol described as not life threatening.
No action is expected from Columbiana County commissioners on Bosel's job future as Columbiana County's recorder because she is an elected official.
21 News asked Bosel if she plans on staying in office as the court proceedings move forward and she had no comment.
