The Mahoning County OVI Task Force and the Ohio State Highway Patrol has announced the results of the August 30 checkpoint. 

The checkpoint was held on Glenwood Avenue at Playhouse Lane in Youngstown and was conducted from 10 pm until 2 am. 

According to officials, a total of 251 vehicles passed through the checkpoint. There were 17 vehicles directed into the diversion area.

Out of the 17 vehicles, there were two arrested for an OVI, two issued summonses for drug abuse, one arrested on an arrest warrant, one citation issued for expired registration and one summons for driving under suspension. 

The Mahoning County OVI Task Force is funded by a federal grant, which is administered through the Ohio Department of Public Safety. 

Task forces agencies included Canfield, Youngstown, Boardman, Jackson, Mahoning County Sheriff's Office, Mill Creek, Milton, and Poland Township.
