Former Farrell football coach Jarrett Samuels, who was in his first season as an assistant coach at Thiel, has stepped down due to health concerns.

"I went to get a physical in July, and my doctor advised me to step away from coaching to concentrate on my health," Samuels told 21 Sports.

"My doctor said do you want to coach and die or step away and enjoy life," said Samuels, who led Farrell to a State Championship in 2018 with an undefeated record.

The 47-year-old Samuels says he's already lost some weight and making the necessary adjustments in his health.
