COLUMBIANA COUNTY, Ohio -
People came together in Columbiana Wednesday evening for an event to help feed the hungry.

It was the second annual Tips for a Cause at Birdfish Brewing Company at the Down Low location on East Park Avenue.

One hundred percent of the tips from bartending are being donated to the Second Harvest Food Bank.

Also donated to Second Harvest, was one dollar from every glass of the beer Harvest Haze poured Wednesday and a dollar for every four-pack sold.

Harvest Haze is a fresh hop pale ale brewed for the benefit of Second Harvest.

"They've told us for many years now that the commitment is to help people that are hungry and help the community, and they're showing that because they've been longtime supporters of Second Harvest Food Bank with food and funds and volunteer hours. And our hats off to the folks here at Birdfish for all the great things they do for us, and all the great things they do for the community around us," said Mike Iberis, Executive Director of Second Harvest Food Bank.

Josh Dunn, the owner of Birdfish Brewing Company, said "Birdfish is a place that brings people together so naturally it's a community spot where people get together, and we wanted to help give back. So really it's not us giving back. It's everybody else coming together to give back to the community or these local nonprofits."

The event was held in conjunction with the Mahoning Valley Flight Crew, which covers craft beer for the valley and the Business Journal.
