The Cortland City Fire Department received a donation Friday to help combat COVID-19.

The fire department took to Facebook to thank Home Depot for the donation of a washer and dryer.

The department says the donation will help protect the firefighters against the coronavirus because they can clean their uniforms more frequently.

Coronavirus cases in Trumbull County reached 75 Friday, with numbers expected to rise as the surge draws near.
