BROOKFIELD TOWNSHIP, Ohio - A Warren man is in critical condition after allegedly causing a head-on crash in Brookfield Township Saturday evening.

The incident happened just after 5:30 p.m. on the 5000 block of Warren-Sharon Road by 84 Lumber.

Troopers said 48-year-old Gregory Dobay was eastbound in a 1998 Chevrolet Blazer.

That's when they said he traveled left of center and struck 77-year-old Joanne Sydlowski of Brookfield, who was driving a 2002 Cadillac Seville in the westbound lane.

The two drivers and Sydlowski's passenger, 80-year-old James Sydlowski, were taken to the hospital.

Dobay is in critical condition, according to a news release.

The Sydlowkis have non-life threatening injuries.

Initial reports from dispatch said Dobay may have been running over mailboxes before the crash.

The crash is still under investigation.
