YOUNGSTOWN - A solemn tribute was held on Youngstown's Westside on Tuesday to say goodbye to a beloved pastor.

Parishioners at St. Brendan's Church lined up in their vehicles to say goodbye to Father William Loveless.

Loveless died on April 28, after serving as a priest in the Youngstown Diocese for nearly 45 years.

He began his role at St. Brendan's in 2011.

"THIS IS WHAT YOU DO. THIS IS WHAT YOU DO FOR FAMILY, YOU KNOW WE COULDN'T JUST SIT AT HOME AND SAY OKAY - OH - WE'RE SO SORRY. THIS IS WHAT YOU DO TO SAY GOODBYE," said one parishioner.

The funeral mass for Fr. Loveless was private due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Parishioners gathered, in their vehicles and drove by his coffin for a final tribute.

A larger memorial Mass will be celebrated at a later date.
