COLUMBUS, Ohio - The seemingly unavoidable personal contact customary between barbers and beauticians during coronavirus social distancing requirements made the idea of reopening Ohio’s personal care services a challenge.

But on Thursday Ohio Governor Mike DeWine announced that hair salons, barbershops, day spas, nail salons, and tanning facilities may reopen on May 15.

The reopening comes with precautions, some mandatory, and others are recommendations.

The governor’s Personal Services Advisory Group created the following list of guidelines and best practices for personal care service providers to follow:
