PITTSBURGH, Pa - A Lawrence County man is one of a dozen people that have been federally indicted in a drug crackdown.

47-year-old Michael Turner of Wampum faces drug trafficking charges following a months-long wiretap investigation.

According to the release, the investigation into narcotics trafficking in Pittsburgh and the greater Allegheny County area was part of a larger investigation into the "11 Hunnit" gang operating in the Hill District neighborhood of Pittsburgh.

Officials say Turner and others involved face charge of conspiring to distribute and to possess with intent to distribute five kilograms or more of cocaine in the area.

The release says the incidents happened between November 2019 and June 2020.

Turner is one of the defendants that could face a maximum sentence of life imprisonment, a fine of up to $10,000,000 or both.

The investigation was led by the FBI and the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police.
