CANFIELD, Ohio - The Canfield Police Department needs help naming its newest member.

The police department took to Facebook Wednesday to introduce its K9 officer from Slovakia. 

The K9 is a male German Shepherd and is a little over a year old. He will be officer Aaron Young's partner.

The department will be accepting name ideas through Friday afternoon. People can comment their ideas on the police department's post. 

Officer Young will then pick some of his favorites and put them up for a vote over the weekend.

The department says the cost of the K9 was covered through the Drug Enforcement Administration.
