BAZETTA TWP., Ohio - Some churches and schools in Trumbull County should be better prepared for a medical emergency thanks to some concerned citizens.

The Bazetta Fire Department announced on Monday that “Stop the Bleed” buckets are now available for pickup by people who underwent special training offered by an expert from University Hospitals at Bazetta Christian Church earlier this year.

The buckets contain some basic but essential items, including gauze and tourniquets, needed to control hemorrhage.

The kits will be distributed to churches and preschools where they’ll be available to those who already took the free “Stop the Bleed” instruction.

Stop the Bleed is a national awareness campaign intended to cultivate grassroots efforts that encourage bystanders to become trained, equipped, and empowered to help in a bleeding emergency before professional help arrives.

Bazetta Fire Chief Dennis Lewis says organizations that took the training can call him or any firefighter at 330-637-4136 to make arrangements to pick up their buckets.
