AUSTINTOWN, Ohio - Officials made one OVI arrest during two Austintown checkpoints and a saturation patrol over the weekend.

The September 25 checkpoint was at 483 North Canfield-Niles Road. The September 26 checkpoint was at 4477 Mahoning Avenue. 

A total of 606 vehicles passed through the checkpoints. There were 11 vehicles that were directed into the diversion area for further investigation.

As part of the checkpoints and saturation patrol, there was one OVI arrest, five summonses for driving under suspension, two summonses for open container, two summonses for drug abuse, one summons for drug paraphernalia and one summons for drug abuse instruments. There were also two felony arrests for drug abuse, according to the Mahoning County OVI Task Force.
