21 News political analyst Dr. Bill Binning says there could be more at stake in Wednesday night's Vice Presidential debate than other VP debate in the past due to the age and health of the current presidential candidates.

"These Vice Presidents are playing a bigger role in their campaign than they usually play because there's a good chance one of them could end of being president. if not that then they could play a bigger role in the administration, whichever administration wins," said Binning.

Senator Dick Durbin, friend and colleague of Sen. Harris tells 21 News Pence will have to defend what he calls a very weak record of keeping America safe from the coronavirus.

"We have 4.5% of the world's population here in the U.S. but we have 20% of all the covid deaths in the world. We have failed utterly when it comes to the infection rate and the death rate in the United States even compared to neighboring countries like Canada. We could have done so much better," said Durbin.

Hogan Gidley, the national press secretary of the Trump campaign tells 21 News Harris is too far left for the valley and for America.

"This ticket on the democrat side is the most radical we've seen in our country's history. Kamala Harris is the most liberal senator by voting record than anyone. Even more left than Bernie Sanders. She's embraced the Green New Deal which would kill 10.5 million jobs in the energy alone. She supported defunding the police," said Gidley.

Dr. Binning says expect Weednesday night's debate to be a little more civil than last week's presidential debate. He says the American people thought that debate was overwhelmingly un presidential.
