Primary Health Network has made a donation to several food pantries in the local area as part of National Health Center week.

Primary Health traditionally hosts a community event in Sharon in celebration of National Health Center Week but decided to go in another direction this year.

According to the release, PHN recognized the many people in the communities they serve struggling during the pandemic and decided to hold a donation drive where employees designated a portion of their paycheck to a food bank in the area.

PHN matched the donations by their employees 5 to 1. Employee donations totaled $10,700 and with PHN's match totaled $64,200.

Two local food pantries received donations. City Rescue Mission in Lawrence County received $3,075 as did Mercer County's Community Food Warehouse.

Primary Health Network has locations in 16 counties in Pennsylvania and in one county in Ohio.
