Three Boardman football coaches test positive, game against Chaney canceled for Oct. 23

Boardman School District is reporting that three of the district's off-staff varsity football coaches have tested positive for COVID-19.
The district had two other off-staff coaches test positive prior, with a total of 5 coaches. The district is working with the Mahoning County Health District for additional contract tracing.
Four additional members of the coaching staff are also quarantining from a gathering for a football film viewing over the weekend.
The varsity and junior varsity games against Chaney have been canceled.
“A total of 5 of our off-staff coaches are affected, and the remainder of the coaching staff has been quarantined as a precaution stemming from one incident of viewing film over the weekend,” said Athletic Director Marco Marinucci.
The District is working closely with the Mahoning County Board of Health to determine if any additional quarantines will be necessary.
