Pennsylvania reports over 6,700 new COVID cases

Pennsylvania reported 6,778 new COVID-19 cases and 112 more deaths as part of Saturday's update.
In total, there are now 302,564 cases and 9,801 coronavirus-related deaths.
There are 3,162 people hospitalized with COVID-19. Health officials say the state has reached levels seen in May when hospitalizations were at their highest. Of that number, 661 patients are in the intensive care unit with COVID-19. Most of the patients hospitalized are aged 65 or older, and most of the deaths have occurred in patients 65 or older, health officials stated. The trend in the 14-day moving average of the number of hospitalized patients per day has increased by nearly 1,900 since the end of September.
Statewide percent positivity for the week of November 6 through November 12 stood at 9.6%.
Locally, Mercer County reported 65 new cases and two more deaths, bringing the total to 2,263 cases and 35 deaths. Lawrence County reported 42 new cases and three more deaths, bringing the total to 1,818 cases and 64 deaths.
