Fire causes heavy damage to New Castle home
A woman that lives at the home said that she was cooking something on the stove and believed she had turned it off before leaving for a short time.

NEW CASTLE, Pa. - A fire broke out Wednesday afternoon at a two-story home in New Castle.
The blaze happened at a home on the 700 block of Monroe Street shortly before 4 p.m.
Neighbors told firefighters that the kitchen was on fire at the home.
Houses in the area are very close together and caused a general alarm call in.
Firefighters arrived to find flames spewing from the home.
A woman that lives at the home said that she was cooking something on the stove and believed she had turned it off before leaving for a short time.
The house was extensively damaged with smoke, fire and water damage.
A nearby home also had siding melting.
A fire investigator will investigate the cause of the blaze.
