An Austintown woman has been charged with assaulting a township police officer trying to find out how her car ran into the side of an apartment building.
According to a police report, the officer saw 52-year-old Colleen Hurst sitting in the driver’s seat of a Volkswagen Jetta that was partially into the apartment building at 20 North Wickliffe Circle on Tuesday.
The officer said Hurst got out of the car and first asked to be taken to a hospital before becoming confrontational, calling the officer a “pig”.
The report says the officer blocked used her arm to block three punches allegedly thrown by Hurst who was then placed under arrest.
Hurst entered no plea during a court hearing on Wednesday. A judge set her bond at $4,000 and scheduled another hearing for next week.
