Second Harvest Food Bank hosting traveling food pantry

Second Harvest Food Bank of the Mahoning Valley is collaborating with Salem Regional Medical Center (SRMC) to host another Traveling Food Pantry on Saturday, December 5th at 11:00 a.m. until supplies are depleted.
Cars will be asked to enter and exit the food line from the Medical Center's East Third Street parking lot.
You can enter the distribution site from East Third Street.
Members of the Ohio National Guard and Salem City Police Department will be on-site to assist with traffic.
In order to receive the food, recipients will enter the line and be asked to open their trunks so workers can put the food in the trunk.
Trunks must be cleaned out before arriving and windows must be rolled up at all times.
"We are grateful to Salem Regional Medical Center for their partnership to distribute healthy, nutritious food to our friends and neighbors," said Michael Iberis, Executive Director, Second Harvest Food Bank.
"So far this year, the Food Bank distributed over 13 million pounds of food, which includes over 3 million pounds of fresh produce," Iberis added.
"This outreach effort with the Second Harvest Food Bank is a wonderful opportunity for Salem Regional Medical Center to live out our mission of serving our communities and meeting the many needs of our patients and their families," said Dr. Anita Hackstedde, SRMC's President/CEO.
"We understand that these are very trying times, especially during the holiday season, and are looking forward to making a positive difference for those who can share in the Traveling Food Pantry's visit to Salem," Hackstedde added.
