SHARON, Pa. -  The Humane Society of Mercer County is asking for donations and sheltering help after rescuing 159 animals in Sharon.

According to the Society’s Facebook page, humane offices and volunteers spent Tuesday evening conducting a mass removal.

Sharon police and the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission also assisted.

Below is a list of the animals recovered:

  • 8 Turkeys
  • 8 Chickens
  • 7 Turtles
  • 7 Rabbits
  • 7 Ferrets
  • 40 Ducks
  • 5 Pigs
  • 12 Guinea Foul
  • 1 Snake
  • 24 Cats
  • 3 Dogs

The post does not give the location of the rescue. 21 News is working to learn more information.

The Humane Society is asking for donations to provide veterinary care for the animals.

People have responded on Facebook offering to shelter some of the animals.  The Society says it is most in need of somewhere to place the 24 cats.
