Workers remaining at three manufacturing plants in Mercer County have a better idea of when they’ll be out of a job.
Milwaukee Forge has announced that it plans to permanently close its facilities on Brown Street and Erie Street in Mercer and First Street in Wheatland by May 28.
A total of sixty-seven employees will be laid-off on February 5, March 5, and March 31, according to a notice filed as part of the federal Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act.
The notice comes four months after a previous WARN letter announcing that 131 employees would be laid-off following the sale of the three former Mercer Forge facilities to Milwaukee Forge.
