HOWLAND TWP., Ohio - A proposed project would bring new sidewalks and other improvements linking a business district in the Howland Corners area.

The Trumbull County Engineer announced that he plans to install new sidewalks along both sides of Willow Drive between East Market Street to High Street, and along High Street from Willow Drive to State Route 46.

The plans include 795 feet of new sidewalk and curb ramps to meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards, catch basin adjustments, as well as the application of new crosswalk and stop lines.

Roads included in the proposed project are near the township police department, government center, Richard Orwig Park, Howland High School, Wedgewood Pizza, and PNC Bank.

The $189,000 project is scheduled for construction this fall.

Engineer Randy Smith says traffic and access to all property will be maintained during construction.
