Diocese of Youngstown ordains new bishop

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - Tuesday was a big day for the Catholic Diocese of Youngstown as a new bishop was ordained.
Reverend David J. Bonnar hails from Pittsburgh and replaces Bishop George Murry, who passed away in June after a leukemia battle.
Bishops, priests, deacons, and leaders of the Diocese joined family and friends in Bishop Bonnar's ordination.
Among the new Bishop's many accolades are being the chaplain of the Pittsburgh Steelers and The Priest Magazine editor.
The 58-year-old becomes the sixth bishop of the Diocese of Youngstown and says even though he knew the ordination was coming, he couldn't prepare for the emotion of it all.
"The Holy Spirit was breathing in, and I was breathing out. Even though it's a new moment, we have a lot in common; we are all transitioning. They are welcoming a new bishop, and I am welcoming a new flock," said Bishop Bonnar.
