Skeletal remains found in Youngstown

The Youngstown Police Department is asking for help from the public.
On Jan. 13, the Youngstown Police patrol officers responded to the area Salt Springs Rd. and Oneta Ave. about skeletal remains being discovered next to the road.
Ohio Department of Transportation workers discovered the bones near the roadway and contacted the police department.
A Mahoning County Coroner's Office investigator, along with members of the Youngstown Police Department Detective Division, responded to the scene.
The skeletal remains were determined to be human after preliminary analysis from Coroner's Office, along with an anthropologist.
The identity of the individual nor the sex has not been determined.
Youngstown Police Department detectives are investigating the incident.
