Giant Eagle preparing to start vaccinations for those in 1B phase
CLEVELAND, Ohio - Giant Eagle is preparing to schedule COVID-19 vaccinations for those who fall in the state's 1B phase.
The retailer is stressing patience as the pharmacies begin to help vaccinate community members.
Giant Eagle will launch an online vaccine appointment scheduling tool at www.gianteagle.com/covid by Wednesday morning.
Each pharmacy will make initial appointments starting Thursday through the weekend. More appointments will be added as each pharmacy receives more vaccines.
"We are prepared to play our part in the state's next step to vaccinate all Ohioans," said Giant Eagle Vice President of Risk and Chief Pandemic Officer Vic Vercammen. "Please know that Giant Eagle remains in close contact with health officials at the county and state levels and we expect to receive additional shipments of COVID-19 vaccine in the days to come."
If a person that has scheduled an appointment is not eligible for the vaccine, Giant Eagle will not be able to give that person the vaccine due to health guidelines.
