Rick Mancino, Kirk Scurpa named interim coaches at Sharpsville

Long-time Kennedy Catholic Boy's Basketball mentor Rick Mancino is back to coaching, but with a different team.
Effective today, the four-time state champion coach was named the Sharpsville girl's basketball program's interim coach, along with Kirk Scurpa
This news comes six days after former Blue Devils coach Tom Burns left the program for personal reasons.
When asked about the hire, Sharpsville superintendent John Vannoy tells 21 Sports, "We're looking to restore a sense of stability."
Mancino won four consecutive state titles with Kennedy Catholic (2016-2019).
Lainey Kratko will be an assistant on the staff.
Vannoy spoke highly of all three additions, including Kratko, a graduate of the district, who filled the coaching void over the past six days.
Rick Mancino will coach his first game with the team Monday, as the (4-5) Blue Devils travel to Titusville.
The board will meet at the end of the year to decide the head coaching position going forward.
