BEAVER TWP., Ohio - A Sebring man is facing charges after a hunting-related incident that left another man injured.

According to a police report, Kasen Smith was deer hunting in Beaver Township near Market Street on land West Calla Road without a license or permission to hunt there.

Police say Smith shot at a deer, and the bullet traveled across Calla Road, hitting a house and striking a man’s foot.

The man was struck while sitting on a couch inside the home.

Police also say there was a baby inside the home.

Police say Smith admitted to officers that he did fire the shot in the direction of the home, but he thought he was far enough into the woods to be safe.

Smith is facing charges of discharging a firearm near a protected premises and hunting on land without permission.

The investigation into the incident was conducted by the Beaver Township Police Department and the Ohio Department of Natural Resources.
