The Champion Local School District has decided to take a step toward a little more normalcy by allowing their students fully back into the building next month. In the meantime, teachers are getting prepared.

"Our staff is going to be getting vaccinated on Friday. We have a very high percentage of our staff that's going to be participating in that," said Champion Schools Superintendent John Grabowski.

The district wanted to be sure to put a barrier on each desk, which adds another layer of protection with social distancing. Grabowski said other school districts even helped them out and they were able to borrow almost 200 desks.

The superintendent told 21 News their biggest challenge with bringing kids back into the schools is transporting them on buses safely. They may have to make adjustments to busing plans as more kids come back.
