At least 2 hospitalized after Jackson Township crash

JACKSON TOWNSHIP, Mahoning County, Ohio - At least two people were taken to the hospital after a Jackson Township crash.
The two-vehicle accident happened on Mahoning Avenue west of State Route 45 Friday just after 2 p.m.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, a Chevy Impala and Jeep Renegade were going westbound on Mahoning Avenue.
Witnesses told troopers the Impala, driven by a 70-year-old woman, was traveling at a "very high rate of speed" when it ran into the back of the Jeep.
The Jeep was forced off the road where it overturned several times. The Impala also went off the road and struck several trees.
Troopers say the occupants of the Impala were not wearing seatbelts and were taken to the hospital. The driver of the Jeep was also taken to the hospital. Officials did not disclose the extent of their injuries.
The driver of the Impala possibly suffered a medical emergency before the crash, according to troopers.
No charges have been filed at this point. The crash remains under investigation.
