Food Soldier Hunger Coalition coming to Warren

The Food Soldier Hunger Coalition will be on hand for the free food giveaway Saturday, April 24.
The event takes place at the Monument of Faith C.O.G.I.C. parking lot, 2165 Highland Ave. S.W. Warren, Ohio from noon until 3 p.m.
The program will be providing free boxes of farm-fresh food including meat, dairy, and produce.
The Columbus, Ohio organization was founded in 2015 by Roshelle Pate, a military veteran and Ohio University graduate.
Partnering with the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture's (USDA) Farmers to Families program, she has held free drive-through grocery distributions in the states of Ohio and Kentucky serving thousands of families.
Through the Food Soldier Facebook group page, there are 15,000 central Ohio members, who are able to utilize the social media page as a resource for food and other necessities.
Local churches, daycare organizations, schools, homeless shelters, and veteran organizations are encouraged to contact Councilwoman Cheryl Saffold at seesaffold@hotmail.com or (330) 399-8178 for bulk pick-up on distribution day.
