Voters reject Liberty School levy again while passing levies for Struthers, Sebring and Champion

Four Valley school districts: Struthers, Sebring, Champion, and Liberty placed levies on the May 2021 ballot.
Struthers, Sebring, and Champion all managed to pass the levies but Liberty Schools failed to do so for the third time in a row.
Liberty schools placed the 2.5-mills permanent improvement levy on the ballot in May and November of 2020. Voters rejected the levy both times.
Now for a third time, the same 2.5-mills permanent improvement levy has failed by a slim margin, 634 against, 610 for the levy (51%, 49%).
The margin of votes did narrow this time around as 53-percent of voters said no to the levy in November, while on Tuesday 51-percent voted 'no.'
However, back in November 2020 a 3.25-mills emergency renewal levy, that runs for five years, did pass.
Voters passed the Champion School District 1.5-mills renewal Levy with 337 voting for, and 217 voting against the levy (61%, 39%).
The district says the funds will be used to make infrastructure improvements across the three schools
In Mahoning County, voters narrowly passed a 1-percent earned income tax levy for the Sebring School District by just three votes.
In total, 196 people voted for the levy and 193 people voted against the levy.
The one-percent income tax levy for the district was last on the ballot in 2006.
Struthers School district also passed its 6.9-mills renewal levy with 732 voting for the levy, and 203 voting against the levy (78%, 22%).
