The ongoing tensions in the Middle East between Israel and Palestine are causing some people to bring attention to the issue here in the states.

On Tuesday, Israel struck scores of targets in Gaza and Palestinian militants launched more rockets after days of clashes in Jerusalem.

The issues stem from mounting anger over threatened evictions of Palestinian families from their homeland.

In downtown Youngstown, dozens of people gathered Tuesday afternoon to protest what is happening there and demanding that America step in to help.

"Some of my best friends are from Palestine. They're all here because, in their country, they're getting kicked out of their homes, and not being treated equally. They're trying to erase their ethnicity," said Dominic Cooper of Youngstown.

Cooper says he wants more people to become aware of the situation so they can bring the conversation to a higher level.
